Do you think Facebook will be as big as it is in 5 years or will we all move on to the next big thing. Remember how big myspace was? Now it’s a mere shadow of it’s former self. Someday, someone will myspace the facebook just like we AOL’d the myspace and just like we Play Outside’d the AOL. Eventually we will move on to better things. I think I’m actually hoping that with the prevailence of mobile internet users in the market, playing outside will be what is crowned the comeback kid. Sorry My”__________” … you tried.
As for companies trying to be more like facebook. I agree that the ability to share information is greatly valued, but I think social media will eventually just slow productivity. I think there could be a more structured and tiered way to share and I feel like most company Intranet’s already accomplish this task. I however am just speculating and it very well could be that a more social experience between company departments could in fact bolster creativity and increase profitability. Only time can really tell.
