As we stopped in Bethel VT on the way back from Montreal, we ran into a shocking scene. An entire part of the town of Bethel VT was being washed away by flood waters. The water was so powerful, it was ripping down trees and debris from local lumber yards and houses were washing down river. A gas station off I-89 where I usually fuel up on my way to work was still open, but the only thing stopping the flood waters from engulfing it, is the railroad bed. I took a phew photos of some of the damage, as well as got a few videos. You can see them below.
