Today, I attended the Free State Project’s annual festival called PorcFest, or the Porcupine freedom festival in Lancaster NH. I was invited there to speak about Occupy New Hampshire and how people can get involved. I didn’t have anything prepared, and I probably rambled on a bit, but I think I delivered my bit pretty well. I probably would have done a much better job had it been a Q&A session, but with essentially an open forum about activism, I found myself kind of trailing on searching for more information to offer. The most important thing I wanted the Audience to remember was our involvement in the New Hampshire Primary. I am so proud of the way we came together as a state to give the political candidates a run for their money. Not only was Occupy NH a huge part of that, but the Ron Paul supporters and the Free State activists were involved as well. It was a great time to be in the State, and I think we showed the candidates that New Hampshire isn’t just going to roll on our backs and let them have their way with us. No, we were going to make them have to answer tough questions, and deal with the public shaming that other states were not able to pull off in a meaningful way. We chased candidates from their events. We made them get a taste of what real public scrutiny is like. We hunted them down relentlessly, and never got tired of it. Just writing about the primary makes me wish for those days to be back, and makes me almost unable to wait for the next general election after this one, where we will have both Democrats and Republicans to ridicule and harass and make their lives a living hell by filling it with questions that they don’t get asked by the media, and don’t want to be asked. We will make them WORK for the Presidency, rather than just spend the most money.

The next thing I brought up is my own involvement in setting up a NH Pride Festival this summer. People seemed to be really excited for that, and even more excited for the PUPPY DRAG SHOW we are planning. Then I brought up, later in the panel, the NH right to revolution clause in the NH constitution and how OccupyNH was challenging their court cases with that right. This is a very unique thing that NH has in it’s state constitution. We take our liberty And our freedoms very seriously here. And finally, I mentioned the Obama Mic Check, and how we served Obama his papers. The crowd seemed more excited about the right to revolution clause than our dealing with the President, but they were still excited for that as well.

I’m really glad to be connecting with the free state project. I used to be a hater, back before I knew many of them. Now, I’m opening up to the bunch, and while I may not fully agree with all of their desires and ideas, I trust them more and more every day that I spend with them. They are hard working people from all over the country, who came to New Hampshire seeking a better life, and saw this state as an incubator for their ideals, and ideas. I cannot fault them for wanting to escape to this state and be amongst other like minded people. And I can no longer sit aside, and ignore this movement. I want to work with them amongst many other groups in New Hampshire, against Authoritarianism, Tyranny, and an unaccountable, unelected corporatocracy. If the whole rest of the world goes completely bonkers and all the economies collapse, I’d like to see New Hampshire at least well insulated from that, and I feel like occupy and the free state project are good vehicles in achieving that goal. And I’m excited to continue working with them and many more groups across the state.
